Love living room concerts? Then this is for you. The first Wednesday of every month we treat you to a musical experience in the community living room of the Mt. Tabor neighborhood - Copeland Commons of Taborspace. Each month is something different from jazz, to country, to Celtic, to vocal harmonies, to classical. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds support the Historic Building Fund, to keep the space beautiful.
The Alexa Wiley Trio, a Portland-based band, performs original songs tied together with themes of the search for meaning in our hurried, modern world. Alexa Wiley curates the trio’s meaningful lyrics integrated with Bret Malmquist’s lead guitar work and Steve Dearborn’s multi-instrumental arrangements
accented by evocative vocal harmonies. A mix of poetry, jazz, world beat, country, rock, and folk. www.alexawiley.com
Mojo Holler weaves threads from mountain ranges to the Mississippi Delta into a tapestry of indie alt-folk music. Mister Baker channels innate genius through lap steel, slide, and dobro. Missi is a genuine Appalachian ‘Mountain Mama’ whose vocals bring burning intensity to each song. The pair were lauded by South by Southwest founder Louis Black, who called them the ‘godchildren of Mississippi Fred McDowell.” www.mojoholler.com
