What we're about

Welcome! We are the Bellevue chapter of the Sons and Daughters of Italy in America. This group is open to anyone interested in the Italian heritage, so please join us for an event and see what we're all about!

The Sons and Daughters of Italy in America is a national organization of men and women who represent the estimated 26 million Americans of Italian heritage, dedicated to promoting our culture, our traditions, our language, the legacy of our ancestors, and our contributions to the U.S. and the world. We are sons and daughters, grandmothers, and grandfathers. We are corporate executives and union members...young students and retirees...teachers and attorneys...doctors and firefighters...bakers and Wall Street brokers...and everything in between. We are philanthropists, and we are model global citizens with purpose beyond ourselves. And we are proud and patriotic Americans of Italian heritage. We exemplify the very best of what it is to be Italian American. This chapter has been in Bellevue since 1976.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we've been meeting on Zoom. However, we usually meet at Unity Church (16330 N.E. 4th Street, Bellevue, WA 98008) on the first Thursday of each month except for July, August, and December (December is our annual Christmas party).

Each meeting consists of a social hour followed by dinner and a business meeting, and ending with a raffle or some other activity. During the business meeting we discuss the direction of the lodge, including which charities to donate to and how we plan on fundraising. We have one or two fundraisers throughout the year that benefit several local and national charities.

We started this Meetup to attract new people that are interested in the Italian heritage and culture. People of Italian descent, whole or partial, spouses of people of Italian descent, or anyone interested in the Italian culture and heritage can join as a social member.

Membership offers the opportunity to promote, preserve, and cherish a lasting appreciation of Italian heritage, culture, and customs.

We encourage you to join this site and attend an event (the first event is FREE; subsequent events are $10.00 to cover the costs of the dinner). Note: During COVID, meetings are on Zoom only and are free.

If after attending our meetings, you would like to become an official member, dues are currently $50.00 a year.

We look forward to meeting you!
