Distance: 10.4 Miles.
Elevation Gain: 900 feet.
Pace: 3-3.5 MPH.
Terrain: Gravel, paved surfaces and ~100 stairs to/from Teddy Bear Cove.

This is a fast paced hike averaging 3-3.5 mph and is intended as a workout. This hike and pace is not meant for meanders, casual strollers, or those not already physically active. I am looking for other strong hikers who wish to do the same.

We will meet @ Woods Coffee Shop in Blvd. Park. No parking pass is required. Summertime is a busy time at Blvd Park, so please arrive early to find parking on State Street or nearby in case lot is full.

We will leave on time, so please allow extra time if unfamiliar with the area.

We will start at Blvd Park, head up Taylor Dock to Fairhaven. We'll then descend Harris to Marine Park for a brief restroom break and picture taking opportunity. We'll then cross the railroad tracks and hike past the Post Point Lagoon with possible viewing of Great Blue Herons, the only known nesting site in Bellingham. From here, we will connect to the Interurban Trail and continue through Arroyo Park. Next, its on to Teddy Bear Cove, where we cross Chuckanut Drive and descend to the beach. After visiting both beaches, we'll return a more direct route to Fairhaven. We will stop at Avenue Bread for lunch before returning to Blvd Park.

Avenue Bread:

Please Note: End time is only an estimate, based on 3 MPH pace and few rest breaks. Hike may end sooner or go longer due to unexpected delays. Please do not sign up if you need to return by a certain time as I cannot guarantee return time.

Hike goes on Rain or Shine.

No dogs, please.

We will be hiking at a brisk 3-3.5 MPH pace. There will be few planned rest breaks. You will be expected to keep up with the group or find your way back to your car. Be prepared with clothing appropriate for the weather, waterproof shoes and snacks/water.

I am the meetup event host, not a qualified professional hiking guide. You will need to be responsible for yourself & your safety. I strongly advise you to only sign up for hikes that meet your level of experience and health condition. Thank you.
