What we're about

We always have a variety of fun and free programs for adults happening at Benbrook Public Library. We encourage adults who are seeking to learn new things, meet others with shared interests, and/or just have fun and socialize to join us for events such as book clubs, writing groups, computer and technology classes, making projects with a laser engraver and poster printer, yoga classes, board game nights, and more. We are located at 1065 Mercedes Street in Benbrook, TX. No library card is required to attend programs, but we of course encourage you to get one!

Virtual Yoga Class

Online event

Enjoy yoga from home with our virtual yoga class! The 45-minute class will be taught live by Ginger, a BPL favorite, on Zoom. We'll post a link to join the class on 1/25.

Different Pages Book Club

Benbrook Public Library

Different Pages is our book club for those who don’t want to be limited to one book in their discussion and would like to share what they’ve been reading recently with other avid readers. It’s a great venue to dish about which of your recent reads you loved or hated, and also to pick up book recommendations from others. The Adult Services Librarian serves as a facilitator/moderator and occasionally gets in on the discussion. We provide light snacks to enjoy while you talk books and socialize. Different Pages meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 11:00 AM.

Writing Critique Group - Virtual Meeting

Online event

*This meeting will be held virtually on Zoom. We'll post a link to join us on Zoom on 2/16.* The library’s Writing Critique Group offers writers the opportunity to share their work with their peers and receive feedback in a constructive setting. Attendees read aloud from their writing projects and receive notes, praise, and constructive criticism from their fellow writers. It’s our hope that the group will prove helpful to experienced and aspiring authors alike. Anyone 18 or older may join the group. Writers of all genres and experience levels are welcome, though we do ask that all content presented be kept between “PG-13” and “R” levels of propriety. To view the full rules and guidelines for the group, visit: https://www.benbrooklibrary.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Benbrook-Public-Library-Writing-Critique-Group-Rules-and-Guidelines.pdf
