August meeting

From: Peter

Dear Berkeley philosophers,

At the end of our most recent meeting, we had a brief discussion about picking a topic for the next meeting. "Philosophy of language" was suggested and received widespread approval. That's a good topic, but for the purposes of our meeting we need to have some specific issue to discuss, based on some readings that argue for different answers to some question. So this is a call for suggestions from the group: Who has ideas for a narrow enough topic within philosophy of language, and readings on that topic?

If we follow our recent pattern of meeting dates, we'll likely have our next meeting on Tuesday, August 11, though this is flexible.
