Photograph the Christmas lights at Gring's Mill

  • Grings Mill Park

2083 Tulpehocken Rd, Reading, PA (map)

  • Join us for a trip to photograph the Christmas lights at Gring's Mill! The gate opens at 6:00. We will meet at the lower end of the parking lot on the path to the mill at 6:15. There is a $5 per car charge by the park but no Meetup fee. If you get there a bit late just look around for the folks with cameras and tripods.

We will have people there to help anyone that has a question or problem or just wants to talk about cameras, exposure and composition. Bring a tripod as most shots will have long exposures. There is no "best lens" to bring. Any lens will work. Wide angles will give fine overall shots. Mid-range primes or zooms may be the most used lens. Telephotos like a[masked] can be used as well. On some shots we will provide additional fill lighting but there is no need to bring a flash as most shots capture the ambient beauty.

Bring a couple of dollars to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate in the lower level snack shop.

Images may be donated to Berks County Parks and Recreation for use in marketing and promotion.

    Hope to see you there!
