Our meetups are every 3rd Wednesday of the month. Dinner from 6:15 pm to 7 pm at a restaurant then discussion until 8:15 pm. This goes beyond Q and A; think creative meetups. For fun, we celebrate baby showers, see an occasional matinee, give leadership rewards and acknowledge membership milestones, do charity events, group games, and holiday giveaways. We bring in new ideas annually to keep our gatherings fresh and exciting.
NO Curmudgeons, Faultfinders, Narcissists, Flakes, Excessive Chatterers or Ramblers, Vulgar, Cursing, Profane or Offensive Speakers. A member must be respectful and considerate to remain in our meetup.
😊 As we move into our 7th year, let's have an even better book club. Thank you! 😊
On Membership: Four (4) consecutive missed meetings, frequent no-shows, lack of interest in club updates, not being of service to our book club, and not reading the majority of the books may mean that our book club's not working with your schedule, your commitment's lower than usual, and attending may be a challenge at this time. Membership will end with the 5th consecutive missed meeting so that a new member can come in. Active, positive, and enthusiastic former members are welcome to join when we're not full.
Social Aspect of our Meet-up: Although we love to build camaraderie and use the 1st hour to catch-up with one another's news, members must be cognizant of the time. Let everyone have a fair chance to speak.
For many, it's difficult to join an established close-knit group. Please engage with and involve our new members.
On Brevity: Members should be succinct with their stories during large attendance. **No monologues, please. Brevity is critical. Our 2-hours must be inclusive, relevant, engaging, worthwhile and ultimately satisfying for all attendees.
