Better Off is an inspiring support group for anyone, of any gender, who is experiencing a breakup or the end of a relationship. We offer a safe space to share your story in a casual setting with a positive focus on healing and developing coping strategies. Come as you are, connect with others, and leave with a vision of how you can heal, more forward, forgive (yourself!), and grow.
After working through a difficult breakup myself, as well as the symptoms of depression and anxiety that it intensified, I had to rebuild my self-esteem from the ground up and create a new vision for my life. The list of mistakes I made is long, but the lessons I've learned have profoundly impacted me, brought joy back into my life, and renewed a sense of my own value and worth as a person.
I started this group to support anyone experiencing the pain and trauma associated with the breakdown of a significant relationship, and the death of the vision that you (and you alone) had for your future with this person. I'm no expert, far from it. I'm just a girl who's been through emotional hell and made it through to the other side.
If you've found this group and are hurting right now, please know this with absolute certainty: What's coming is better than what's gone. It always is, because you will have grown. Do not despise the day of small beginnings.
I'm here to help you. Join me, and let's get you through this.
At this session of Better Off, we will have the opportunity to share our stories, discuss coping strategies, and learn how to change our state through shifting our focus, our physiology, and our language.
Sarah will guide the group through Thought Record excercises (how to balance our thoughts and our perspective), and talk about how we can create a new vision for our lives.
Recommended readings and additional support resources will be shared.
Snacks and refreshments!
Please bring a small blanket or towel to sit on, as well as a pen.
