What we're about

Hi! I created this group because I wanted a space for women to come together in a open and vulnerable way.

Many other women's circles I've seen in the LA area are either ultra-spiritual, appropriative, or super expensive. This group is not that.

You *can* expect a sacred, safe-as-possible space, candles, and brief moments of meditation. But mostly, this group will just be a space for women to share deeply and vulnerably about what is going on in our lives.

As humans, social connection is so important for our health and well-being. We don't typically experience open communication and support with people in our day-to-day lives. We're also often taught that other women are our competition and won't support us.

But sisterhood is so essential. I've just moved to LA from Pennsylvania, where at one point I led women's circles for a year. My hope is that this group grows and eventually can meet every week. For now, I've kept it bi-weekly. Feel free to attend every time, or just attend when you feel like it.

Above all, I want this to be a space where we feel friendship and connection, where we have the ability to share our tears and anxieties and celebrations, and where we leave feeling filled-up and supported in the world.

This group is not a business to me - the cost to attend is $5, just in exchange for the space and container (and because Meetup charges to post this). YOU MUST PAY AHEAD OF TIME because there is limited space - you can Venmo (@demetranyx) or Paypal (demetra@demetranyx.com) me - if you don't understand how to do this please message me about it!

You will want to bring a pillow/blanket/yoga mat so that you're comfortable sitting on the floor. If you can't sit on the floor, you can bring a chair. Unfortunately, our building is not wheelchair accessible - there is one flight of stairs.

Also bring a journal - you may want to write things down after the circle to process them.

You can bring snacks or drinks to share, if you'd like - I won't be providing refreshments (though of course I'll have water), but if you want other things feel free to bring.

Please also feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions - I want this to feel like a safe space that is open to everybody.

This group is open to anybody who self-identifies as a woman or feels like this aligns with who they are. Trans women and non-binary people are welcome.
