We will be building a new trail in Joaquin Miller Park to connect the upper and lower sections of the park with a more sustainable and user friendly trail. We need about 25 people on Saturday to cut the bench and construct a couple switchbacks. (More info on the project below.)
All tools and lunch will be provided.
Wear long pants and shirt with sturdy shoes. Bring work gloves and plenty of water. There is a risk of exposure to poison oak at at the work site. Have your crew leader point some out to you if you don't know what it looks like. Clean with Tecnu after the workday and be cautious when handling your dirty clothes.
The primary purpose of this project is to provide a more sustainable and user friendly trail. This section of Sunset (aka $2 Hill) currently lies in the creek bed of Palo Seco Creek, is over 12' wide, and is substantially over grade.
The new reroute will switchback up the hill to the north (and into the sun and chaparral) before connecting with Sequoia-Bayview Trail.
Space is limited so sign up early! If you have any questions drop Brent (email@example.com) a note.
