Do you have a bunch of books that you keep promising yourself you will read one day? Or maybe you have a goal to read one book a month and you just realized it’s October and you haven’t read a book since last October? Well, let’s fix that issue!

BikeArlington in partnership with the Arlington County Library is hosting a monthly Bike Book Club. It’s the perfect event for you if you 1. Love to read 2. Enjoy bicycling, 3. Want to ride your bike with friendly people at a leisurely pace and/or 4. Want to read more books.

We will meet at locations close to a Capital Bikeshare station in case you don't have a bike then ride to one of the county’s libraries to discuss that month’s book. Here are the books for the next six months. Titles are subject to change based upon availability.

August: Hillbilly Elegy by J.D. Vance- Shirlington Library

September: Mating in Captivity by Esther Perel- Westover Library

October: White Trash by Nancy Isenberg- Cherrydale Library

November: Detroit: An Autopsy by Charlie LeBuff- Connection Crystal City Library

December: Chocolate City: A history of race and Democracy in the Nation’s Capital by Chris Myers Asch and George Derek Musgrove- Columbia Pike Library

January: State of Affairs by Esther Perel- Aurora Hills Library

The books will be chosen in advance for the 1st six months after that we can discuss what we want to read so we can make sure the titles we want are available.

Beginner riders are encouraged and welcomed to join. This is a never- leave- anyone- behind ride of fewer than 5 miles and it’s mostly flat. And even if you don’t have a bike, we can get a Capital Bikeshare bicycle for you.
