After travelling around, chilling out, swimming in the Wannsee, eating meat at the Görlitzer Park, visiting your family or whatever you may have been up to on summer, it'll be time for an exciting "Big Data shoot up", a proper season start so that everyone is ready for tackling Big Data problems again...
Please join us on the 21th of August at the CoUp for networking, talks & beer time, we have several new members and it's time to get to know each other! As the older members already know, the ambiance is always very friendly and easy-going.
This time we will have Manuel Aldana from eBay-kleinanzeigen who will tell us how and why they migrated their reporting solution from a traditional RDBMS to a Hadoop+Hive system.
And we will also have the special visit of Peter Wang, president of Continuum Analytics. He'll be presenting A Pythonic Future for Big Data. Peter will present a brief overview of the technology landscape, and show some of the innovative new tools in the Python ecosystem for next-generation data science and business.
Co-Up is at Adalbertstr. 7, and it has two gates. Only the South gate will be unlocked tonight. Go through the south gate, straight ahead through the tunnel, then left through another tunnel. After you pass through the second tunnel, the entrance is on the left side opposite the mailboxes. Ring the Co-Up 3.0G bell.
You can't possibly miss all this good stuff, so please RSVP as soon as possible!

Hey Everyone, I'm a Swedish entrepreneur who's launching a new startup in Berlin. We aim to derive Personality and Mood from Mobile Users and let them monetize from selling this profiles to advertisers. I've got some very good research from Harvard and MIT but am searching for a data scientist to join the founding team. I will try to attend the next meetup and if anyone is interested, drop me a mail on [masked]
