Sharon Barr, Vice President of Engineering at Couchbase, has more than 17 years of experience developing infrastructure software and leading software development teams, having built and managed world-class engineering teams at large companies and start-ups alike. Sharon joined Couchbase (formerly Membase) from Yahoo, where he was director of engineering, responsible for the development of Yahoo’s Real Time Targeting platform, which processes billions of events daily. Prior to Yahoo, he led the server development team at AppStream, a provider of on-demand software distribution and virtualization (acquired by Symantec). Before AppStream, Sharon drove engineering efforts at early stage start-ups in the areas of messaging and CTI. Sharon holds a degree in Computer Science from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from San Jose State University.
