What we're about

The Twin Cities Bicycling Club (TCBC) is the largest recreational bicycling club in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. We’re a 501c3 non-profit organization that’s operated primarily by volunteers. More information about TCBC and Club membership is on our website at http://www.biketcbc.org .

TCBC Ride Leaders may post selected rides on our Meetup group; the complete Ride Calendar is at http://www.biketcbc.org/index.php/rides/ride-calendar . For more information on how we use Meetup, see the TCBC Meetup Group FAQs at http://www.biketcbc.org/index.php/join-us/tcbc-meetup-group-faqs .

TCBC often has over 2000 rides scheduled a year, including both road bike and mountain bike rides. You'll meet riders who share your love of bicycling and the outdoors. Rides are mostly on low-traffic roads and trails. Each ride will have at least one trained and experienced ride leader. Rides are open to members and non-members; non-members must pay a $3 guest fee per ride. Minors must be accompanied during the ride by a parent or guardian. However, there is no guest fee for non-member minors.

TCBC has a wide range of cycling speeds among our many members. Our rides are designed to be social group rides, but since cycling speeds can vary so greatly, TCBC has developed the Ride Key and Ride Considerations to assist in choosing a ride that best fits their riding ability and comfort level; see http://www.biketcbc.org/index.php/rides/ride-key .

Ride times listed are departure times. Come to the ride start location at least 15 minutes before the depart time listed on the schedule. All riders are required to properly wear an approved helmet while on any TCBC ride. Before you ride with the Club, please read TCBC’s Ride Safety Rules and Recommendations at http://www.biketcbc.org/index.php/resources/safety-rules .

Gail Elliott Memorial Bike Ride

Lakeside Memorial Park

This ride commemorates one of TCBC's favorite ride leaders from the past by biking one of her preferred routes. It starts in the north end parking lot of Lakeside Park in Forest Lake and then heads north to enjoy the trails and lower trafficked roads of Chisago County. The terrain starts out flat and then turns to rolling after about 11 miles. Two groups usually form on this ride; one at an A/B pace and the other at a B pace. Also, there are two mileage options: 44 or 37. It has been said many times that this ride is well worth the drive, so please come out to Forest Lake and enjoy the biking. If weather is very questionable, please check the TCBC Website ( biketcbc.org ) for updates.
