How can the promise of personalized medicine be realized?

I think everyone in the biotechnology field is aware of the promise of personalized medicine, and aware of how genomics and transcriptomics projects are producing large volumes of interesting research data. But the path to turning those discoveries into diagnostic and therapeutic products is not straightforward. All of us probably have different takes on this, as bioinformaticians, statisticians, bench scientists, disease researchers, physicians, and of course, as patients. Having an informal discussion of these views could be very educational and productive.

Really great discussion on an interesting and important topic. Thanks to Will and 5AM for supplying the appetizers, and for guiding the discussion. I feel like that topic could be a Meetup in itself. I hope to continue some of the conversations started last night in other venues and forums.

Thanks for putting this on. Sorry I had to pop out early (kids). Will, any chance you could share those slides so I could get the conclusions?

Forgot to mention that the lobby of the building should be open until 6, but if for any reason you can't get in to the lobby or the elevators don't work to the 2nd floor, call my cell at[masked]

Hi, just wanted to give a quick plug for this meetup, and add some details. It will be at the 5AM Solutions offices, which are adjacent to the Twinbrook Metro stop. There is metered parking on Halpine Rd. next to our building which I believe you only need to pay for until 6pm.

There will be some refreshments provided. I will have a few slides to kick off the meeting but I intend for this to be a informal discussion.
