Here's the link to Steve's Deli very diverse menu:

If you prefer - you can eat at the cafe in the Maple Theater.

We dine at Steve's because they allow separate checks, they have a very diverse menu including entrees and healthy options and they can accommodate a large group on a weekend night. It's also not a challenge for this restaurant to service a large group quickly.

We'll then enjoy the music at the Maple Theater cafe until the film starts.

Display your MEETUP  - 5" x 7" sign to locate our members

***For every event that includes dinner you must post a comment (by 4:00 pm the day of the event ) on each event page indicating you want to attend dinner to be included in the dinner count and to help us choose a restaurant large enough to accommodate everyone.**

If you don't want to see this film you are welcome to join us just for dinner at Steve's Deli or just enjoy the live music at the cafe in the Maple Theater Cafe.

We'll meet in the cafe at the Maple Theater after the film to discuss it and enjoy a glass of wine/beer, coffee, tea. desserts, small plates.

PLEASE DO NOT RSVP "NO" IF YOU DON'T WANT TO ATTEND OR CAN'T ATTEND THIS EVENT. PLEASE JUST DELETE THE EMAILS YOU RECEIVE REGARDING THIS EVENT. THANK YOU.

Thanks for a great dinner and Meetup. At times I found the movie unbearably sad, but I thought the ending showed, as Woody Allen said, that the 'heart is a very resilient muscle' as it recovered just enough to leave a sliver of openness to a relationship with another needy heart.

That's certainly true depending upon the ability to be resilient and to live in the present.

Hemingway said, "Life breaks everybody, and some people are stronger at the broken places," the operative and poignant word being 'some.' The protagonist in the film almost didn't make it, making even his survival something to celebrate. When his nephew was looking at the three pictures in his uncle's room near the end, I was expecting a gunshot in the next room.

Is there a discussion after movie?

  • Christine

I'm unable to make it in time for dinner so look for the table with the red balloon in our usual location- the galleria area at Steve's Deli. I'll see you at the theater. Look for the red balloon at the theater at the Windows at the very north end of the theater in the coffee cafe. Look closely at the photos of the members attending the movie to locate them for the post film discussion in the coffee cafe inside the theater.

This is just a reminder that we meet after the movie to discuss it in the coffee cafe inside the Maple Theater. Since there is a sizable group attending tonight 12/2/16 we'll need to break into smaller groups at a few tables. You can order food, drinks, dessert, coffee, tea.
