Farne Islands weekend – diving with seals and birds
A fun weekend is guaranteed diving around the Farne Islands just a couple of miles off the Northumberland coast. There are numerous wrecks and of course the famous and playful grey seals. This is a similar weekend as the September trip with the exception that birds are still nesting so you stand a very good chance of seeing them from underwater as they are fishing for their chicks
We travel up on Friday after work, or whenever you can (car sharing will be worked out once we confirm attendees and see who’s prepared to drive). Note that the meetup time of 9pm is a bit of a guess!
Friday and Saturday nights are spent in a B&B (after some food and a drink or two of course!). We have two boat dives on Saturday and two boat dives on Sunday before returning to London.
You will need to be dry-suit qualified. If you are keen on this trip and other UK diving, we can arrange a dry suit course for you at a bargain price. It doesn't take long and will open up the whole world of temperate seas to you.
The price for this diving weekend is £230 and includes the diving and accommodation on a twin-share basis. A hot full breakfast is included both days as is Dinner on the Saturday night. If you require a single room the price for accomodation will double, so being flexible on sharing is advisable.
The price does not include air fills, cylinders, weights or other dive equipment. I highly recommend we take everything we need with us, including two full cylinders. Ropes off time for the boat is 8am so there will be little time to collect equipment locally. We can get refills after the dive on Saturday ready for the Sunday dives (4/tank the last time I filled here)
There is a local company called deep blue pirates that have some equipment to hire but if sizes etc are not correct you may risk your diving
We can help you arrange hire of equipment in London for those that need it (let us know if you need this).
Please note we are diving on a hard boat with a lift and a toilet and also get hot drinks in the surface interval
