The purpose of this group is to get together and speak in Spanish whilst having a great time. Our meetings are simply an opportunity to enjoy socialising and Spanish conversation
Everyone is welcome to come along for a chat. We have a wide range of abilities from native speakers of Spanish, second language speakers to learners at all levels. Beginners in the language are very welcome but should be aware that we do speak in Spanish at our meetings.
We are getting together again with the language meetup groups in Brum for a multinational/multilingual picnic in Cannon Hill Park from 2pm on 8th June. The end time showing as 6pm is a guide, in reality we finish when the last person leaves or it gets dark.
Bring something to sit on, something to drink and a dish or some food that is suitable for sharing (finger food is best!). Plus games, musical instruments and any other entertainment if you wish (a football or frisbee seems to be popular)!
We'll be in Cannon Hill Park - if you arrive from the Edgbaston Road side you will pass a building called The Midland Arts Centre (The MAC), walk past this building and turn right you should find a large open area of grass to your left, it has a hedge along one side and there are tennis courts behind the hedge. You will have a large pond ahead or to your right. Cross the grass heading towards the trees at the back with mini golf on your left. You should be able to see a bandstand in front of you. We will be a large group of people near the mini golf if the weather is fine. Or perhaps sheltering in the bandstand if it rains!!
If you come in from the Russell Road entrance you are already near the band stand. Again look for the tennis courts/mini golf and we should be in the large grassy area next to them.
Familes, partners, children and friends welcome.
See you there.
Time for some convivial company and Spanish conversation again folks. We look forward to meeting friends and making some new ones at our June meeting. (Hopefully some sunshine too)
There is no charge for attending but a small contribution to our costs is invited and welcome. You don't need to be fluent in Spanish to join us, we welcome all who have an interest in the Spanish langauge and the many Spanish speaking cultures. Some people come along just to listen to help them on their language learning journey. Others have spoken Spanish all their lives.
Arrive any time to suit you after 3pm, chat to who you wish about whatever you like and leave when it is convenient to you - but bear in mind numbers do start to diminish after about 7pm as people start to drift off home.
