Often we feel that we are unable to change, we can feel that we as if we are on autopilot as we are effectively controlled by our habits – many of which are not helpful.
This series of classes will provide an opportunity to develop some mental space and reflect on how we are living our lives. We will explore what is giving rise to our stress, anxiety and frustration and how we can adjust our approach so as to reduce this. We will also look at how we can view our daily experiences within the context of the bigger picture and therefore learn to see problems as opportunities for growth and positive change.
week 1 – dealing with difficult relationships – recognising that our mind plays a role in how we experience people. If we change our mind, the relationship will change. Learn some methods for doing this.
week 2 – conflict resolution – when we retaliate we just make things worsw for ourselves and others. Explore some alternatives.
week 3 – dealing with criticism – why do we get so upset when we are criticised? One reason is because we believe our sense of self worth depends upon what other’s think of us. Set yourself free from attachment to reputation, praise and so forth.
Week 4 – Getting perspective – learn to see our experiences within the context of the bigger picture and in so doing reduce our stress and anxiety and make each day count
week 5 – Healing our mind – learn to understand the real causes of all our stress, anxiety and pain and thereby learn how to heal ourselves and understand others
Week 6 – finding solutions that last – seeing our daily life as a path towards peace
Week 7 – Living a peaceful path – Explore the methods for deeply transforming the way we think and experience life
