Update 12/7

Sorry for the delay, had a few things to sort out and have been crazy busy of late.

Thanks for the suggestions that came in, so by request we are using these venues.

As the heading suggest, we will start off at The Brasshouse Pub and then pop over the road to the downstairs area of walkabout. We have free entry before 10pm and will get stamps so will also have access to the upper floor also.

You can contact me on[masked]

Broad street is fine now! Lots of Police and is safe.

    1 · July 20, 2013

    • Prem M

Thanks Cain for the update. Police report just released - only 4 people actually arrested today (so far) as part of the protests.

      July 20, 2013

  • Prem M

Im going to get to The Brasshouse for 7:30pm and will post another update then as a few people have emailed me as are still wary.

On broad street now. Edl all moved on. Everything opening back and getting to normality. By the time the event starts you would never know a protest even happened.

I don't mean to sound desperate or attention seeking but I can travel to Birmingham by tram/bus/train etc but my only concern is how am I gonna get back home? I actually live in Wolverhampton but if I were attending this meet up group for a night out at the places named in the description, do I have to stay at a hotel in Birmingham then leave the next day to return to Wolverhampton (my hometown)? Or do I need a lift home by taxi (though getting a taxi back home will cost a lot as I'm literally 15 miles away from Birmingham)? I'm sorry for being needy or desperate yet again but I have never actually been to any of these Meetup groups I've joined this site a few months ago just so I can socialise and meet new people, get to know them etc. Also when we go to Walkabout is it the nightclub part which is downstairs or just a bar area only?

    July 19, 2013

    • Prem M

Good advice Emma, James we have members from all over the country come to our meetup's including a few regulars from Worcester, London and even Wales. How you get home depends on your own situation. There is no obligation to stay till the end of the night. Sometimes were out till the first trains/buses start up. I would recommend checking the last ways to get home and if you think you are going to stay out longer then consider booking a hotel - we have a discounted rate at nite nite which is just behind broad st. other hotels and b&b's are also available.

      July 19, 2013

    • Prem M

walkabout downstairs is also a nightclub area

July 20 is actually the night of the Zombie Walk and Zombie After Party, at which a load of people/groups are attending so wherever we go, the dress code will have to be zombie friendly lol :-)

    June 5, 2013

    • Beverley

      Well no me neither...

      June 7, 2013

    • Prem M

No more Zombie walk on the 20th so one less thing to contend with...

      June 27, 2013

  • Prem M

If anyone has any preferences let me know, do bear in mind I'd like this to be an open for all event so might be slightly restricted with over 25 venues... However Uni's and colleges have ended there term time so may open a few doors to get our own space.

    May 2, 2013

  • Paul W

Yep, though may be late due to the charity walk that day

    May 3, 2013

    • Prem M

No worries, did see you're hosting the Zombie walk earlier in the day :) Would have joined to but pre booked Saturday afternoons :(
