Blockstack is building “a new internet for decentralized apps”. Blockstack engineer Aaron Blankstein will be joining us to give BOB members an overview of the project.
Aaron joined the Blockstack engineering team from an academic background, finishing his PhD in 2017. His doctoral research spanned a range of topics, mostly focusing on web application performance and security. He’s worked in information flow tracking systems, caching algorithms, compilers, and applied cryptography.
Lightning Talks: This talk will include lightning talks by community members. In 2 minutes anyone can present their idea, ask for help, recruit partners, or launch new projects. It's a perfect opportunity to find co-founders, coders, advisors, designers, and clients to help make your idea a reality. If you would like to present, please send BOB a message via the meetup.com group. There will be a limited number of spots, first come first serve.
Who should attend? All ages and experience levels are welcome. If you’re new, you’ll find friendly faces excited and ready to show you the ropes. If you’re a Bitcoin or open-blockchain expert, you’ll find like-minded people to discuss new or existing projects with.
Logistics: The event will be held at 2pm at mHUB, which is an innovation center for physical product development and manufacturing and a co-working community. It is located just east of Chicago Ave and Milwaukee Ave, just a few blocks from the Kennedy expressway and the Blue line.
We have changed rooms. Instead of the big room straight back, we'll be in a slightly smaller room on the other side of the co-working space. It's a bit trickier to get to. There will be signs and me and Ian will be around to direct you to the right location.
Pizza and non-alcoholic beverages provided. You are welcome to BYOB.
