Focus Group - BitBusiness - Commecializing the Blockchain

  • Satoshi Square

    301 Chicon, Austin, TX (map)

  • This meetup is being established to better grow the Bitcoin community and talk about the Business side of getting BTC Companies Commerialized.

While I love the potential that bitcoin has, I've come to recognize that it is easy for us as a community to be enamored with the technology and lose sight of what is practical and useful for the average person - a key factor in the ultimate success and adoption of Blockchain technology.

To give some background - I've been working with a number of early stage businesses in Austin for the last 4 years, I recently completed my Masters in Technology Commercialization at UT, and I'm one of the founding members of Satoshi Square.

Prior to moving to Austin, I received my Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, and I have worked as an investment analyst for a VC firm in California.

I hope that I can help grow bitcoin businesses, advance the Blockchain technology, and contribute to the growth of bitcoin (in price, and in ubiquity) by holding this meetup.

I view this as a focus group tasked with accelerating the growth and development of the technology in a practical way.

I won't be charging a specific amount for the meetup, but I will be accepting "Pay What It's Worth" donations if you are compelled to do so.  Bitcoin and Alt-Coins accepted - none of this nasty fiat stuff :-D

BYOB, and if my bank account allows it, I'll try to bring some pizza or snacks to munch on.

This meeting now conflicts with another local meetup about commercializing the blockchain. This Thursday they are presenting the results from a recent blockchain hackathon.
