He also works as Head of Communications for the blockchain incubator, ChainLAB, and previously held a similar role for the Mastercoin / Omni Foundation.

The European Parliament’s Resolution of 3 May 2016 on Virtual Currencies and Blockchain Technology

Nikolas Guggenberger (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-nikolas-guggenberger/) is policy advisor to Jakob von Weizsäcker, the European Parliament's rapporteur on virtual currencies and blockchain technology.

He will give a presentation and lead a discussion about the European Parliament's resolution of 3 May on virtual currencies.

Generation Blockchain: Introducing the Blockchain Education Network

Dean Masley is Executive Director of BEN, the Blockchain Education Network, an association of more than 150 student blockchain groups representing more than 150 colleges and universities around the world. He will talk about Crossing the Enthusiasm Gap: How young blockchainers can make an impact as this emergent industry takes shape.

During his talk Dean will announce the creation of the Dutch national chapter of BEN (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/the-blockchain-education-network-in-the-netherlands/) which will be hosted by Bitcoin Wednesday.

New Solutions for Blockchain Scalability and Performance

Bas Wisselink, board member of the NXT Foundation will talk about one of the biggest challenges faced by all decentralized blockchains after sustained use.

He will explain NXT's latest proposal to bundle and prune data in order to make the network more efficient and scalable (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/introducing-the-ardor-blockchain-platform/) as it grows.

Future Scenarios: Innovation of the Financial-Monetary System

Martijn Jeroen van der Linden (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-martijn-jeroen-van-der-linden/), a researcher at TU Delft's department of Economics of Technology and Innovation, was one of the leaders of the recent citizen's initiative that brought the debate about the monetary system to the floor of the Tweede Kamer in March 2016.

His previous talk during Bitcoin Wednesday in 2014 was one of the most interesting we've had in our 3-year history, and we're honored to have him back.

Oraclize.it – Providing Centralized Data to Decentralized Apps

Thomas Bertani (http://www.bitcoinwednesday.com/profile-thomas-bertani-of-oraclize/) is the founder of Oraclize.it, a service that cryptographically verifies the accuracy of data to be used by smart contracts on the Internet.

He will give a presentation about the challenges of providing such information to applications on the blockchain and will demonstrate some useful smart contracts that he has made, ranging from decentralized insurances to reputation systems.
