Born a free African American from Saratoga Springs, New York (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saratoga_Springs,_New_York) Solomon Northup is kidnapped in 1841 when enticed with a job offer.
Based on the true story of one man's fight for survival and freedom. In the pre-Civil War United States, Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a free black man from upstate New York, is abducted and sold into slavery. Facing cruelty (personified by a malevolent slave owner, portrayed by Michael Fassbender), as well as unexpected kindnesses, Solomon struggles not only to stay alive, but to retain his dignity. In the twelfth year of his unforgettable odyssey, Solomon's chance meeting with a Canadian abolitionist (Brad Pitt) will forever alter his life.

*GO SEE HOST*
The concept of our "Go See's" is to facilitate the group viewing experience, inclusive of a pre and possibly post discussion at a bar, resturant, or other venue of open space. This ensures anyone has the company of others to "Go See" an event and exchange views on what they've experienced.
Anyone from the group can host and suggest both the meetup venue and screening theatre but it is advisable that both venues are within 5-10min walk from each other and the suggested date is acceptable to the majority of would be audience members.
For the most effective "Go Sees" we advise
1. No more than two venues are suggested of which they should be at opposite and extreme localities, thereby giving potential meetup members closer-to-home location choices .
2. Suggested dates are canvased to the group with sufficient notice ie min 7 days.
3. Time's suggested are evenings during the week or weekends.
4. Each "would be" attendee is responsible for the purchasing of their own respective event tickets.
5. Spell out every detail of the meetup to the very last dot and include the hosts mobile contact number for updates, lateness's or any significant changes on the day itself.
If you are interested in hosting simply email Jide in expressing such and you'll be given temporary admin rights in order to organise the meetup.
Please note: Our "Go Sees" are centered on Cinematic events primarily, however there shall be instances of other cultural interests that will be considered in putting forward as an event to "Go and See".
