Get your every-other-monthly dose of great reads, lively discussions, food and fun times as we chat, eat, and eventually, get to the book! We’re an African American women’s book club that primarily reads the works of African American authors while providing a forum for members to exchange ideas, opinions and expand their literary libraries. Our mission is to support and advocate for African American literature --especially the works of new and emerging authors. For the busy women that we are, it's a chance to schedule time to nourish and focus on the things we enjoy. We also sprinkle in some author/literary events, too. Books are chosen depending on those events and regularly attending members to lead the discussions. You are neither too young or too old for this group of intelligent, forward-thinking, opinionated, and sometimes, racy ladies.
Bring the kids on the second Friday of each month for a storytime and book club covering history and culture --beyond the Black History Month in February. If you seek a sense of kinship, are looking for opportunities to meet other moms of color, join us to explore, build early literacy. Enjoy the Family Festival afterwards!
