What we're about
BlackLit Book Club: Celebrating Black Art, Life, Love, Music and Culture in all forms.
BlackLit Book Club is a multicultural social group focused solely on the discussion of Black literature and the interlocking themes associated with race, gender, ability, sexuality and class in North America and other sections of the African diaspora.
Each event is centered around a theme that correlates with a select piece of Black literature, mostly by female authors. Our mission is to create a safe environment for community members to creatively think, learn and share with one another in the hopes that this dialogue will lead to meaningful action within our communities.
To ensure we have a fully engaged community, we are capped at 50 members.
- Members with no RSVP activity will be removed to make room for new members willing to attend meetups
- Members who no-show will be removed from the group
