March Madness not only sets the prelude to the NCAA Final Four taking place in the Twin Cities this April, but also signifies the start of the 2019 Baseball Season! On Saturday March 9th, various tech-focused and community-based organizations have partnered together to kick it off by hosting Baseball Hack Day, a one-day coding competition where tech and sports collide. As many orgs collaborate to debut this program for the Greater MSP tech ecosystem, this is one event you don't want to miss!

Hack Day participants will have the opportunity to form teams composed of sports aficionados and techies in efforts to create innovative projects to increase the love of the game. As Baseball Hack Day seeks to also create an inclusive environment, Baseball Hack Day has also partnered with Blacks in Technology, IoT Fuse, Girls in Tech, and the National Society of Black Engineers to host this event. Baseball Hack Day has also partnered with tech giants, Intuit and Sportradar, who will preview exclusive developer tools, APIs, and data resources for the hackathon audience.

Baseball Hack Day Co-Organizer, Elizabeth Cotton, commented, " The sports-tech industry is a very competitive and fast paced growing sector. Baseball Hack Day is such a great program as it infuses sports, entertainment, innovation, and tech. It's great to see different tech orgs working together to pilot this program in the Twin Cities."

Participants of the hackathon will have an opportunity to pitch their project to a panel of judges for a chance to win the grand prize and bragging rights. For more information please visit For volunteer or sponsorship inquiries, please contact Elizabeth Cotton at [masked].
