Blazing Trails for Small Business

Purpose of this meetup:
An opportunity to get out doors, out of your office, and out of your head.  Share ideas and experiences with fellow business owners and hikers.  Learn how to brainstorm solutions for problem solving by spending time in nature.  In the spirit of the change of seasons, discussion on "How natural leaders adapt to change"  will be held at the summit.

We will meet in the field to the right of the parking area (north) at 9AM.

We will be hiking the Northern Loop Trail to the Summit  (approx 2 miles round trip)

You will receive a Trail Blazers Trail Hikers Kit as our thank you for participating - so please RSVP!

Thanks again for an amazing morning! What a glorious day for an adventure, and I learned so much about each of you and your businesses - even from people I already knew from before - hiking in the woods gives you such a great opportunity to chat, share, and form friendships. Looking forward to seeing you all November 9th, and supporting you and your businesses in the meantime.

Is anyone interested in carpooling from Portland?

Kath - if you friend me on Facebook, you will see I also posted the event there. You may want to pose your question there as well. I'm leaving very early, and am going to another event straight after, otherwise I'd offer!

I was at mt Bradbury last weekend: really busy. I was expecting to see the hot dog and popcorn stand at the summit. Apparently there's another trail on the other side of the road. we may want to go there.

HA -Good point Kath, but it was probably very busy last weekend because of Columbus Day weekend. Because I have this meetup advertised in several different places, I need to stick with the hiking plan I have outlined. If anyone has trouble finding parking, or finding me, my cell # is [masked] - feel free to text

Saturday's weather is looking great! I am so looking forward to meeting you on Saturday. I have more people signed up through Facebook, and friends who have mentioned wanting to come. Do you have anyone in mind who would enjoy this meetup? Please be sure to share this with your friends and on Facebook - the more, the merrier! See you Saturday!

Hello - according to Bradbury Mt State Park, all trails are open for use. (so I am assuming they are not affected by the Federal Shutdown, but I will call to confirm)

There are still park fees during this time of year -$3.00 PER MAINE RESIDENT AGES 12 THRU 64, $4.50 PER NON-RESIDENT AGES 12 THRU 64, $1.50 PER NON-RESIDENT AGES 65 AND OVER, $1.00 FOR AGES 5 THRU 11. Please be prepared to pay the park fee upon arrival at the gate.

Also, it is HUNTING SEASON so wearing BLAZE ORANGE might not be a bad idea - especially if you plan on departing from the group to further explore.

Bradbury is a state park, not federal, so it's availability is not affected by the yokels in the capital. :)

That's what I'm counting on, but I've heard rumors about non-federal things getting shut down .. so better be safe than sorry =) I'm so looking forward to getting out there and having a great time!

Can I bring my small, well behaved hiking buddy: my pooch. I would feel very uncomfortable going hiking and leaving him at home: he loves to hike

Dogs are welcomed at Bradbury State Park on leash, and of course we clean up after them.

My dog will most likely be along for the hike as well.

Wonderful. My pooch and I am looking forward to this very inventive networking event. As a newcomer to Portland I am as much looking forward to learning the new hiking trail as I amto get involved in networking

I have a catering job that day, but fall hikes are just lovely, aren't they?

They sure are Chris! We have another meetup scheduled for Nov 9th in South Portland (walking to Bug Light on Green Belt Trail) MyHoney is also in the wedding biz (He's a DJ) so I know you must be busy this time of year. I'm going to also have a few evening events also as time goes on. Looking forward to seeing you on the trail!

I've already got plans that morning but love the idea and will hopefully make a future hike.

No worries Blaine! Glad to have you in the group - I love the idea of having a marathon coach on board. We have another scheduled walk on November 9th from Evans St, SoPo to Bug Light along the Green Belt Path.
