What is your experience in or of cohousing, intentional community, communal living?

I first experienced community/communal living when I llived on an Israeli kibbutz many years ago. After that, I explored several communities in the U.S. and learned about the new concept of CoHousing, which felt like a very good fit for me, being a balance of privacy and community. I have attended the National CoHousing Conference and a "Getting It Built" workshop run by the leaders of American CoHousing, McCammant and Durrett. I have also toured and visited CoHousing communities. It's a great way to live in community.

I've been a Bloomington resident for 35 years and have been working to create CoHousing in Bloomington for a while now; and it's happening at last!
