Qi Gong is a moving meditation practice that helps you transform emotional stress, develop balance and harmony with nature and yourself, and nurture health and vitality from the inside out. Through gentle, simple movements, we learn to tap into deeper sources of energy and awareness available to us in every moment. For over 4,000 years, Qi Gong has been used to treat issues such as chronic fatigue, pain, depression, insomnia and more.
Qi Gong and mindfulness go hand in hand. Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh writes in his book No Mud, No Lotus, "To be mindful is to be aware -- it is the energy that knows what's happening in the present moment. Lifting our arms and knowing that we're lifting our arms -- that's mindfulness. It's the energy that helps us be aware of what is happening right now and right here, in our body, in our feelings, in our perceptions, and around us".
Jeff offers online Qi Gong classes twice per week (Tuesday PM and Friday AM). Each class includes about 40 minutes of Qi Gong and 10 minutes of meditation. There is time for questions and discussion at the end of class. Anyone interested in this practice is encouraged to join. There are no set fees for classes, but expressions of gratitude are appreciated very much.
Jeff Kerr is a Certified Holden Qi Gong Teacher and has been practicing Qi Gong for about 5 years. He first learned this practice at Breitenbush Hot Springs and was amazed and how much joy and energy was available through such a simple practice. He is also a grateful student of Thich Nhat Hanh.
