So you didn't make it to the Sawtooth Mountains? No problem, join me for a stroll to Dragon's Tooth near Roanoke on Friday and a second hike to Hay Rock or McAfee's Knob on Saturday.
I will be staying in Roanoke for the weekend. Camping or hotel options are available depending upon what creature comforts you may prefer. If you require alot of structure for your weekend plans this outing will not be for you.
We will meet at the Dragon's Tooth parking lot at 0930 on Friday. Length 5.7 mls
Elev. Gain: 1,505 ft
Pace: 2.5 mph
Significant rock scrambling with a few iron rungs; if you do not like exposed rocks, DO NOT ATTEND. Experienced hikers only.

What to bring: 3 to 4 liters of water with electrolytes, snacks, deet, sunscreen, and hiking sticks.
Note: Start and end time do not include your travel time to trailhead or post-hike rehydration.
We will head out for McAfee's Knob. McAfee's Knob can be an ant hill of hikers, so the starting time will be early.
