Really enjoyed playing a game that I had never played before

    March 17, 2014

It was fantastic and worth repeating! Thank you to everyone who arrived and made it work. It is reassuring to know that there are avid enthusiasts out there who love games. It worked well that people could float around and jump into or start a new game, and that novices were patiently managed. My aim was to play either new games or familiar games with new people (or both!). I anticipate that with such a core group of committed and friendly members, we can grow our gaming. Onward to on-tap, available gaming groups!

Agreed Adam and thanks to you for hosting us in such a great manner.

Tim and myself are going to be a bit late, we had a bit of a navigation mishap. Apologies, see you soon.

That is a pity, Emile. I am sure we will have another one soon. Hopefully, VERY soon!

To confirm, at present there are 18 people attending what is shaping up to be a very exciting Meet. I have secured 4 rooms, 2 large ones for big groups and 2 smaller "breakaway" rooms. There are more rooms available if we need.

I would suggest the 11.30 start stands, and we finish when we have had enough. There is lunch available from The Purple Cow coffee shop which is on site, as well as coffee and other snacks. There is also a vending machine so bring change. Or you can just bring your own stuff.

There is a vast range of games available, so as Pieter has suggested, bring a couple and we can decide what to do on the day. My guys will definitely want to play A Game of Thrones, Battlestar Galactica, Smallworld. We have Lords of Waterdeep but never played.

It is so comforting to know that there are other board gamers out there and I look forward to a lot of fun on Saturday!

    I can bring:
    - Settlers of Catan (the 5-6 player expansion), the new Pirates and Explorers expansion (sadly there is no 5-6 player expansion for this yet)
    - Munchkin + expansion 2 and 6 (3-6 players), and
    - King of Tokyo (2-6 players).

If anyone has Game of Thrones (2nd edition), Arkham Horror or Dominion I'd really like to play these again.

    February 26, 2014

    • Pieter V.

I'll bring Dominion and GoT then :)

Hi All, Please bring 1/2 games with if you want. Makes the selection even easier. I personally will bring a box with roughly 7/8 games. But ANYONE welcome to always bring games

I have Citadels which accommodates 8 as well as Zombie Flux. I will just have to check but also think robo rally and smallworld can do 8. Otherwise we can split the group?

    February 20, 2014

    • Pieter V.

Hi Keri, Yes what we usually do is play something like Werewolf, Resistance, Zombie Flux in beginning or end. Then break up into 3/4 groups of 4/5 ppl each. Please feel free to bring any game with that you want at any time.

I am really struggling to post messages on the discussion boards; MeetUp seems to identify me as a member but keeps insisting I join up anyway.

The address is 65 Westminster Avenue, Bryanston. I can send you Google directions if you like.

We have a very broad range of board games but I am interested in what you think we should play. I have secured another 2 players (taking the total to 8) so we might need to get creative.

    February 19, 2014

    • Pieter V.

Thanks so much Adam, I've moved the venue for our meet up to your venue. We have a ton of games and we can easily split into 2/3 groups. Also, we can play something like the resistance / werewolf with 10 at the end or beginning, which is usually the norm

      February 20, 2014

  • Adam D.

I run my games through my business premises in Bryanston. We have big tables, spacious rooms, good lighting, secure parking and an on site coffeeshop. We even have a lazy susan for the board. If venues are a problem, I am happy to assist.
