What we're about

This is a group for anyone interested in sports, fitness and adventure. All skill levels welcome. This group was started out of a desire to increase the number of people taking on and keeping a sporting way of life, to create more play availability for knowledgable players while nurturing upcoming interest and talent, and in essence expand the knowledge of local community resources available to the general public.

Rules of play- Scoring: We will use rally scoring Serving: One toss per serve rotation. Net serves are live serves. Dead balls: Net contact of any kind constitutes a fault on play and both the point and ball is giving to opposing team. *There is to be no net contact to be made by any player at any time during live play of the game.* The intentional attacking of a serve is not permitted. There are exceptions as in hard driven serves. First ball reception must be closed hands/bump. Open hand tips or dinks are not allowed. Hard driven balls may create momentary holding or double hits. Due to the nature of play these actions are not considered faults and are permissible. Hand sets must come off clean with maximum of 1.5 rotation. Setting over the net is legal when: (1) the ball travels in the direction that you’re facing/perpendicular to your shoulders (2) minimal rotation 1.5 Rally scoring point system. Games are to 15 with 17 points as cap. Thus in tied game, first team to 17 wins match. Waitlist will be limited to 1 team in case of team cancellation. There will be 2 courts with which we will play. Each team will stay on for 2 games before rotating off the court. When reentering game play, you will rotate on bottom court. This way all teams will play against each other and have time to recover. This is to keep wait time in between games to less than 2 minutes. Your team placement in play depends upon when you sign up. *Please note that the idea of these games are to make them competitive *
