Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs is a 12-week long course, designed by experts in the yoga therapy field, especially for people with chronic lower back pain. informations and registrations The lessons are based on the same lessons given on the largest scientific trail of yoga ever undertaken. This study found yoga to be more effective and cost-efficient than physiotherapy, acupuncture, osteopathy, pilates and other common back pain interventions. This ground-breaking study was conducted by the University of York and sponsored by Arthritis Research UK. You will learn: - rescue poses to help after a back pain incident; - four sequences to soothe, strengthen and mobilise the back; - relaxation techniques for back pain; - how to breath properly to support your back health; - improving posture in standing and sitting, - how to develop a mindful awareness of how you use your body in your everyday life. Regardless of whether you are younger or older; mobile or very stiff; fit or a self-confessed couch potato - if you have chronic lower back pain - this is the course for you. ABOUT : Julia Moore has been teaching yoga for over 12 years and practising for around 30 years. She came to yoga as a teenager because she suffered greatly from chronic tension, muscle and joint pain. Once she felt the benefits that yoga brought to her body, mind and energy levels there was no going back. Julia has trained extensively in Hatha Yoga (500+ hours British Wheel of Yoga accredited); Yoga for Back Pain; and Yoga Therapy. She has trained under teachers who trained directly with the innovative Vanda Scaravelli and the well respected BKS Iyengar. Julia is also qualified to teach meditation, yoga nidra and Hanna Somatics (a form of neuromuscular re-education). She has developed a unique holistic style of teaching which is grounded in the intention to educate, inspire and encourage self-healing on all levels.
