Hey ladies!! Have you ever wanted to try skydiving, but have been too afraid to go by yourself? Join Bold Betties for a tandem skydiving adventure! With beautiful views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding area. Skydive Lake Tahoe has a friendly and knowledgeable staff to make you feel at ease and safety is their number one priority. They are offering us a group discount of $180 per person instead of the normal $230 per person. If you want a video it's $70 and pictures are another $70, however, if you get both it's $120. We will meet at 6:45 a.m. Sunday morning at the Raley's parking lot by the Starbucks side on Mount Rose Highway (the usual spot). We will leave promptly at 7:00 to be at Skydive Lake Tahoe by 8:00. They can accommodate up to 30 people and take 2-3 people up at a time. We can all cheer each other on and support one another on this bucket list moment!! Here is a link to their website: https://www.skydivelaketahoe.com/ Please remember if you RSVP and cannot make it, let me know at least a week ahead of time for this event so someone else can have this awesome opportunity. What to Bring: Positive Mental Attitude Clothes appropriate to the weather (see website for details) Money to pay for Tandem Skydive and video or photos. Snacks and Water
Hey Ladies!! Have you ever wanted to try white water river rafting? Or have you done it and want to go again with a group of rad ladies? Then this trip is for you! We will be spending the entire day out on the water with OARS rafting the Merced River in the beautiful Yosemite wilderness. OARS has offered us a discount of $50 off the total price per person for this tour if we book by May 15th! After May 15th it's $169 per person, which still isn't bad! I would like to get this booked ASAP so we can guarantee our spot for June 30th. Please RSVP as soon as you can so I can give a headcount to OARS and Bold Betties HQ. The trip needs a minimum of 4 people to book, and there are still 12 spots open for June 30th, which is the day the lady at OARS recommended instead of July due to water levels. I want to leave Saturday in the early afternoon and car camp close to where we will meet Sunday morning at 8:00. Once everyone who wants to go RSVP's we will figure out carpooling and whatnot. I am going to close the RSVPs for this trip in 7 days, just because we need a strong idea of who is going sooner rather than later and to be able to get the discount. I also spoke with Bold Betties and there is a possibility they may be able to help fund some of the cost, that's why I need to know who is going. Here is a link to answer some questions you may have about what to bring and so forth: https://www.oars.com/before-you-go/merced-river-rafting/ Here is a link to a description of the rafting trip itself: https://www.oars.com/adventures/merced-river-rafting-near-yosemite-national-park/ Please let me know if you have any questions!!
*Please read entire post* Hi ladies! I have snagged 10 overnight permits for a backpacking trip in Desolation Wilderness. Including me, there will be 9 spots available. I already paid for the permits, so if you RSVP and cannot attend please give enough notice so that someone else can take your spot. You can either Venmo me, or pay me in person at another event as we get closer to the date. I know it's far in advance, but permits go quickly in the summer for Desolation wilderness areas (especially for weekend)! We will be using the Bayview Trailhead to backpack in. Bayview Trail to Velma Lakes is a 9.9 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Tahoma, California that features a lake and is rated as moderate. There is a total elevation gain of 2, 378 feet on this hike, but we will be passing Granite Lake and a few viewpoints that are great resting points along the way! Once we reach our destination and set up camp we can explore the surrounding area. Dicks Lake and Fontanillis Lake are both beautiful alpine lakes that are within 2 miles of where we will be camping. We can also just choose to swim and relax for the afternoon. I would like to be at the trailhead no later than 7-7:30 a.m. Saturday morning. I know this is very early, but this is an extremely popular trailhead and parking fills up fast. This will also give us plenty of time to hike in at a leisurely pace and still have time to enjoy ourselves in the afternoon. As we get closer to the event and I have confirmation of who is going we can set up carpooling. We can also coordinate who has what gear and what food everyone is bringing and so forth. If you have any questions about equipment or what to bring please let me know! Here is a link that explains a little about the trail, please read and be aware that it is a pretty strenuous hike in especially with a 15 or so pound pack. https://foreveradventuring.com/2016/09/09/backpacking-velma-lakes-desolation-wilderness/ What to bring: Positive Attitude:) -Backpacking Backpack; I would suggest 40 Liters at a minimum.
