This is a joint meetup with the Jenkins Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/New-York-Jenkins-Area-Meetup/events/245641148/).
The NYC JAM and Bonita Meetups are collaborating together to present sessions on (almost) everything you wanted to know about automating your software delivery pipeline. You name it, we are covering it!
Join us on Thursday, December 14th, 2017, from 6pm to 8pm.
• Jenkins Pipeline
• Blue Ocean
• Containerized masters and agents
• Deploying Docker agents to AWS EC2 with the Ansible plugin
• Automated testing, with test results stored in S3
Are you looking to network and learn from other Jenkins and DevOps professionals? Come, meet your peers and learn what others are doing in the exploding world of software delivery, powered by Jenkins.
This is a perfect event for individuals of all industries and backgrounds. We encourage everyone to come and enjoy the event!
Deconstructing Containerized Pipelines with Jenkins and CloudBees
David B. Schott
Solution Architecture, CloudBees
CloudBees is the hub of enterprise Jenkins (https://jenkins.io) and DevOps, providing companies with smarter solutions for automating software development and delivery.
Jenkins Pipeline (https://jenkins.io/doc/book/pipeline/) is a suite of plugins which supports implementing and integrating continuous delivery pipelines into Jenkins.
We will cover key concepts and best practices for Jenkins and Jenkins Pipeline by “deconstructing” a Dockerized demo environment and CI/CD pipeline. This will be a mix of slides and live demos.
Demonstrated features include: Containerized Master and Agents, Pipeline/MultiBranch/Organization Job Types, Pipeline Syntax, Pipeline Libraries, Code Quality Scanning, Functional Testing, Blue Ocean UI.
David specializes in all things Jenkins and DevOps while also aligning CloudBees solutions to customer use-cases. He has over 10 years of Java development experience with a focus on Application Design, Cloud Architecture, and CI/CD Automation. David enjoys experimenting with new technologies, most recently in the Docker and Container Orchestration space.
How Jenkins helps us @ Bonitasoft
Technology Evangelist, Bonitasoft
Bonita (https://www.bonitasoft.com/) is a platform used by developers to build business applications with a process design approach.
We rely on Jenkins internally and with our customers to overcome challenges that comes with the development of Bonita applications:
Continuous Delivery: Build a pipeline to automate the deployment of all the artifacts required to deploy the Bonita applications.
Benchmark application performance on the Cloud: Use Jenkins to orchestrate the deployment of Docker containers in a AWS EC2 instance using Ansible plugin, the execution of test scenarios and the storage of the result data in S3.
As a Technology Evangelist at Bonitasoft, Lionel’s mission is to explain the "why Bonita?", to transmit his passion about the platform and the value it can bring to developers. Passionate by technology since he can remember, Lionel likes to experiment and mix technologies, to open new perspectives then tweet, write and talk about it. He is also involved with the Bonitasoft Open source community.
