Your Sunshine Yoga Teacher Training is a 20-hour Yoga Alliance Registered continuing education course that teaches one the skills necessary to effectively educate children and youth ages 3 to 18 about yoga. This course consists of a 2-day long intensive training session and is ideal for anyone who is passionate about sharing yoga, mindfulness, and healthy living with kids and teens. In this course participants will learn knowledge, techniques, and the tools to help children and youth with self-regulation, body awareness, social skills, the expression of difficult emotions, and so much more. Also, participants would gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between the brain, nervous system, breathing, and body, child development, and how yoga and mindfulness can support effective integration and function. The course is also designed to support your personal and professional growth and awaken your inner child within through play, laugh, and exploration. Theory, practice, and hands-on experience will create a strong foundation to deliver the effective yoga class to kids and teens ages three to eighteen. This program is recommended for: No pre-requisites required. Parents, Yoga teachers, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Behavior Specialists, Educators, School Nurses, School Counselors, A.P.E. Teachers, and anyone who is passionate about sharing yoga with children and youth. Why Yoga for children and youth? Yoga is an amazing way to work on all systems of the body, enhance the brain and keep one's mind at peace. Specific types of breathing and yoga postures allow more oxygen to be brought to brain cells, leading to increased stimulation, attention, and concentration. Oxygenating the brain can help to rejuvenate the damaged areas. Yoga poses combined with certain breathing techniques helps the body in a multitude of ways, it improves metabolism, calms the nervous system, improves sleep, increase body awareness, and increases body strength. Training led by Anastasia Martynova, ERYT -200 is a Founder of Your Sunshine nonprofit charitable organization and has an extensive experience in yoga, mindfulness, and meditation. She is a dedicated yoga teacher and recognized for her powerful practice, intuitive understanding of the body, mind, and spirit and her creative, and engaging teaching style. She believes that yoga is a journey to recalibrate the biomechanics of the body, release tension through movement, increase strength, flexibility, and balance while harmonizing the body, mind and spirit through the breath, postures, relaxation, and meditation. Having grown up as a child with special needs, Anastasia Martynova, gained lifelong insights through her first-hand experiences in what it truly feels like to be different from others. While facing her own challenges in the context of complex societal norms and harsh misconceptions, she developed a motivation to look beyond limitations, while allowing for the growth of deep compassion and keen understanding toward all individuals with special needs.
