What we're about
Welcome to a community of French learners!
Those who love the French language and culture—whatever your speaking level—come together to move ahead in French. We’ll have two types of activities, conversation, and social. These will take place in various places, cafés , wine bars, or private homes, in Raleigh and Cary.
Maybe you've studied French but you haven’t had enough practice. There's grammar in your head but you don't feel comfortable speaking. Or you speak fairly well, but would like to keep improving. The Bonjour, Raleigh Meet Up offers 1 or2 evenings per month for initiated beginners (this means you’ve had a bit of French already and you’d like to start putting sentences together and feeling more comfortable). There will also be 1 or 2 evenings a month for intermediate French speakers. (You comfortable with basic conversations, but you’d like to move ahead in your French language ability.)
During the Meet Ups, I'll do some correction and a bit of instruction by a fluent French teacher is included. Conversation groups will cost $10. for a 1 ½ to 2 hour evening (with a break in the middle).
French Culture and Fun
We'll also enjoy French culture through various no-fee activities (unless there's a cost for the activity itself.) This might be a French cuisine pot-luck, an outing at a French restaurant together, a French movie night, theme-based gatherings, etc.
Your organizer I’m Kyle and I’m looking forward to meeting you and helping you with your French, as well as enjoying fun social times together. I lived in France for 13 years and currently teach privately and in the Wake Tech Adult Education program. I love the French language, country, and culture and I’m looking forward to a like-minded community! This group is complementary, not competitive, with other French language groups in the Triangle.
Please read over the guidelines for the group on the Pages, which will help us all enjoy the time and respect one another. As you join the group it is assumed that you have read and understood these guidelines.
