European Day of Languages in Bonn[masked], Münsterplatz The Regional Representation of the European Commission in Bonn will celebrate this year’s European Day of Languages between 11 am and 5 pm on Bonn’s busy Münster Square. Passersby will have the opportunity to pick up a wide range of free publications on the European Union in multiple languages. More importantly members of the Commission’s translation service as well as the European Personnel Selection Office from Brussels and Luxembourg are going to be there to inform the visitors about traineeships, recruitment procedures and career opportunities in the European Commission, not only as translator or interpreter. The event on 26 September also offers a unique opportunity to get first-hand impressions of the daily work of a translator. At the same time, we want to draw attention to the EU’s linguistic and cultural diversity. Our partners of the Institut français, Oxford-Club, Goethe- Institut, Center for European Integration Studies, the Pädagogischer Austauschdienst, European Socialfonds and Adult Education Centre Bonn will be grouped around the European Commission’s star shaped tent to explain their course programmes and help us to show how important language learning is to intercultural understanding. Just come by and profit from this unique opportunity. We look forward to seeing you at the 12 star tent!
We meet on Saturday afternoons in order to engage in English conversation and discussion through a variety of popular topics. Some of the attendees are international workers or world travelers with English skills on an intermediate or higher level. Some participants are native English speakers, offering learners an opportunity to hear even greater fluency within the language. However, please remember that beginners of English are always welcome and strongly encouraged to join in as well. We appreciate anyone who possesses an enthusiasm for spoken English coupled with a desire to make new friends & social contacts. The location is always "Cassius Garden". It's a big, centrally located, self-service restaurant with lots of seats. We meet inside & upstairs on the first floor of the restaurant. http://www.cassiusgarten.de/english-information. We extend a warm and friendly invitation to all persons interested in practicing their English language skills in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
