  • Queer Sewing Circle

    Coupa Café

Our lovely group member Dwyn is hosting another event! From the FB page: Let's do some crafts together! This is not limited to just sewing, I just want to call it a sewing circle. Bring whatever craft you want! Do you feel intimidated by arts n crafting/don't know how to do something but want to learn? You should come here and learn a new craft! I'm happy to share all my embroidery/cross stitch/knitting knowledge with new friends! Is money a barrier to you trying out a new craft/doing a craft you love? Please drop me a message! I can definitely fund some crafters/can share my ridiculous yarn and embroidery stash. Don't let $$ be the thing that keeps you away, let me know and I'll make sure you get the supplies you need. • Book Club: Pulp @ Heritage Park

    Heritage Park

Our sixth official club read will be Pulp by Robin Talley! In this novel told in dual narratives, New York Times bestselling author Robin Talley weaves together the lives of two young women connected across generations through the power of words. A stunning story of bravery, love, how far we’ve come and how much farther we have to go. We are hopeful April will bring good weather, so we are hosting the event outside! Feel free to bring snacks, drinks, blankets, whatever you want or need! There is no bathroom at the park, fyi. In the event of rain/inclement weather, we will relocate the event to Coupa Cafe on Ramona.

  • Dinner & Board Games @ the Nut House

    Antonio's Nut House

Let's get dinner at the Nut House prior to the weekly board game meetup. Come for food and drinks, stay for games (and BYO board and card games if you have them). Info about the weekly board games meetup: https://www.meetup.com/Peninsula-Board-Games-and-Drinks-20s-and-30s/events/cpxwppyxpbwb/ ----------------- INFO ABOUT THE NUT HOUSE: The Nut House is a sort of divey but comfortable bar/restaurant that serves your basic bar stuff (well drinks, cider, beer) and tasty food (tacos, burning hot french fries). You order for yourself at the bar or restaurant window and there is a $10 credit card minimum at each, but we can also share a tab and Venmo or whatever. We encourage you to support the venue, but there's also water and a giant bowl of free peanuts. GETTING THERE: For Caltrain, get off at Cal Ave and walk for a few minutes from the station heading roughly southwest. Biking and parking are usually pretty easy. ACCESS: ✓ Close to Caltrain ✓ Free parking and accessible parking spots on Cal Ave and in lots behind the Nut House ✓ Bike racks, bike-able streets, good street lighting ✓ Decent selection of food for snacking on including GF tacos (woot!) ✓ Other food nearby if this selection will definitely not work for you ✓ Music at reasonable volume ✓ Restrooms ✓ Seating ✓ No stairs ✘ If you have a nut allergy, it's crucial to note that there are peanut shells everywhere at this location (mostly the floor). Let us know if this would pose a problem for you! ✘ Floor can be slippery due to said peanut shells ✘ Sort of dimly lit but bright in other areas Please message us if you have specific needs that we can anticipate, or a suggestion for somewhere more accessible to meet!
