Hate the feeling of finishing a really good book only to realize you are the only one who read it and have no one to gossip about it with?! Then this is the group for you! We will meet up, talk about the book, drink some wine/coffee, and have a good time. There is no pressure to finish the books to attend, just as long as you're not mad if we give away the ending!
We will have some group questions to spark conversations, but mostly it will be an open format. The meetings will usually be held somewhere in the city of Buffalo.
Just a few guidelines to keep in mind:
Since we will occasionally meet at a bar, I have to ask that you are 21 or over before joining.
We typically meet in places that require a reservation, so it is super important for the RSVP count to be as accurate as possible. It is painful for me as the organizer to reserve a table for 15 and then only have three people show up. If you consistently RSVP and do not show up, I will have to drop you from the group.
Related to the above, if you can not make it please give as much notice as possible. Shit happens and sometimes last-minute cancellations are unavoidable, but the earlier you can let us know the better.
Solicitations are not welcome. It is great that we have so many enthusiastic local authors, but the meetups are designed to be fun, low-pressure get togethers, not a venue for a sales pitch. An e-mail to the organizer is fine, but please don't take it beyond that.
If anyone has suggestions for something that would be a fun meetup please feel free to create an event on the page. Assuming there is interest I will promote it to members. Otherwise we'll meet on the last Thursday of every month (unless otherwise stated, usually because of holidays) for the regular meeting.
