What we're about

This group is for anyone who, like me, will bury their nose in a book, breathe in the smell of the pages, and lose themselves in a story. If you share this passion come join us for drinks and to talk about books.

Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It by Charlamagne Tha God

Book was changed because I realized that The Unimportance of Being Oscar by Oscar Levant was hard to find and too expensive. I listen to 103.5 The Beat when I go to work and LOVE Charlamagne Tha God. This book is available on Audible and I would highly recommend getting that version because he narrates it himself. Hope to see you soon!

Educated by Tara Westover

Happy May! This is a fantastic memoir. I really enjoyed reading this book and I think it will make for a great discussion. "Educated is an account of the struggle for self-invention. It is a tale of fierce family loyalty and of the grief that comes with severing the closest of ties. With the acute insight that distinguishes all great writers, Westover has crafted a universal coming-of-age story that gets to the heart of what an education is and what it offers: the perspective to see one's life through new eyes and the will to change it." - Goodreads

Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky

Needs a location

Warning: This book is 600 pages! I have chosen a science fiction book for July, specifically based on recommendations from the group. I know we all enjoy Science Fiction and it feels like forever since we've read a long one like Seveneves. Can't wait to see you guys! Happy Reading!
