What we're about

Greetings, a warm welcome to Books I should have read. This book group aims to bring together like minded people to read books that are considered 'classics', and regularly appear in lists. For list-aholics like me, some of my favourite book lists are:

• 1001 books you must read before you die (http://www.listology.com/ukaunz/list/1001-books-you-must-read-you-die)

• All time top 100 novels (http://entertainment.time.com/2005/10/16/all-time-100-novels/)

• 1000 novels everyone must read (http://www.theguardian.com/books/2009/jan/23/bestbooks-fiction)

There are so many books I want to read, but haven't managed yet - life tends to get in the way. I want to be more organised and read some of these classics, along with meeting new people who also enjoy books :).

There are already plenty of book groups out there (especially on meetup), so why start a new book group? I can't find an existing group that is working through classic texts -probably as everyone else has already read them?

Books I should have read book group will have at least on book group a month, in central London. As the group grows, I'm happy for members to get involved and host additional books groups each month. Everyone who has a keenness to discuss books is welcome to join. The group is free to join and we charge £1 to reserve a spot on each meetup, which will be donated to a literary charity - book aid international - http://www.bookaid.org .

Any questions/if you'd like to volunteer to join the leadership team, just drop me an email.
