Ron and Kathleen, organizers of this group, are out of the state on extended travel, but hope to keep the group alive and help people continue to meet nice people and be there for us to come home to some day! This Christmas event at the beautiful Rengstorff house is a warm and fuzzy way to get the season started and learn some history at the same time. If someone would like to sign up as a one-time event host, please let me know. I'm posting this from Texas so won't be there in person. Even if you don't have anyone to go with, this outing can be lots of fun, and a way to talk to some friendly people.
We've been going to this excellent, beautiful outing to the Rengstorff House for years. It's free [although donations are most welcome] and one of the best Christmas gifts you can get.
Take a tour of this elegantly restored historic home of one of Mountain VIew's founders, an incredible r elic of the Valley's early years. It's all decked out for Christmas, docents are in costume. Join in with the choir around the piano for Christmas carols. [Last year the choir wasn't there, only the pianist, which turned out to be more fun because we could pick our own Christmas songs to sing.]
Refreshments are served, Christmas classics read aloud for those who wish to listen.

Ron and Kathleen are still traveling but wanted to make sure you don't miss this outing. Perhaps someone will step forward to be a host or organizer for this event? It really isn't necessary to have a leader -- just show up at the house and all the decorating and food and fun have been done for you. Our group member Martha Wallace is usually there in her role as docent.
We're still looking for folks to host events from time to time so our group hangs in there while we're gone.
