Edinburgh Weekend

  • This location is shown only to members

  • Join Merseysiders for a fun weekend in Edinburgh. Meeting in Edinburgh on the afternoon of Friday, 19th May  and leaving for home in the evening of Monday, 22nd May 2017.

As a capital city there is such a variety of things to do it is difficult to know where to start.

The National Museum of Scotland is the best presented museum in the UK.

The Castle can take a day to see.

International standard art galleries are free to wander around.

In themselves the streets are interesting. The old town is full of ginnels and outstanding architecture.

The city is full of interesting and affordable places to eat and drink.

The theatres stage productions to rival London's West End.

We can watch the sun set from King Arthur's Seat.

The nominated accommodation is the Travelodge, Edinburgh Central, Princess Street. Failing that try to book your accommodation near to the Waverley Railway Station.

Activities will adapt to the numbers attending and their desires. The usual Merseyside device is to nominate different meeting places during the day to facilitate regrouping. For details near the weekend and last minute notices, see

The organiser, Nick Wilkinson, does have a mobile telephone but it will only be used while away from home. Use the landline number or the email address, before the event.

For the organisers contact details and other confidential information, please, ask a committee member.
