Winter Solstice Ceremony: Lighting candles for our loved ones
The Winter Solstice is one of the oldest celebrations, dating back to the dawn of modern civilisation some 30,000 years ago.
It marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year. It is a crucial part of the natural cycle and in its spiritual sense it is a reminder that in order for a new path to begin, the old must end.
Today we ‘stand still’ with the Sun and welcome the growing Light.
We remember to nourish and nurture the Light within and send it out to the world. Let us light a candle for your loved one and recall the spiritual quality of light and warmth they emanated and give thanks for their lives.
