Central Coast Pinot Tasting - Group Rejuvenation

  • Apr 4, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • Roy's

After a long winter, I'm going to be hosting a tasting of central coast Pinot Noir at my place in Beacon Hill.

We'll be following  the standard format of tasting 12 wines, three flights of four wines.  Please bring a stellar bottle to share, 4 wine glasses, and $10 to reimburse me for providing appetizers.  Some surprises, including some of my favorite library wines from the Santa Rita Hills,  will be happening. I promise a tasting you won't forget, no matter how much you imbibe!

I hope people have enjoyed BBWT and I want to thank everyone that has hosted so far.  I am hoping to stimulate a new flurry of activity in the group with the event. Therefore, the RSVP method will be as follows:

From now until March 21, people will have the option of messaging me with a commitment to host their own meetup, of which they would have complete control over.  In return for committing to hosting, the guest gets a spot in the Central Coast tasting at my place, where it all started.  The message should included the date they would like to host, how many people, wine theme, and additional details.  I will be in touch to iron out the rest of the event posting with the person. All events are welcome from 6 people to 50 people! No event is too big or too small! Spots in the 4/4 tasting will be first come first served based on interest in hosting. COME ON AND TRY HOSTING.

At 7pm March 21, the remainder of leftover spots (which may or may not be present) will be up for grabs.

The address will be mailed to attendees.  Look forward to seeing you there.

I have friends visiting from out of town and this is the only night we can hang out so I have to back out of this one.

Oops, I hit reply rather than posting, so if that meeeage made it through and this is a duplicate, sorry. I'm out of town on 4/4, so I won't be able to attend but I love this idea for a tasting. I've been bouncing dates around with other members to find a date to host (to avoid double booking the same date or weekend), and coordinating that with work and my travel schedule I'm looking at 4/19, 5/17, or 5/31. BUT, I had planned to do pinots and since you are doing pinots in April that won't work (especially if I do 4/19). SO, I'm committing to host on one of those dates at my apartment in Somerville, standard blind tasting format, 12-14 people, and I'm thinking Zinfandels (still debating whether to keep it to one region or to open it up to a world competition). Let me know which date works best in relation to dates requested by other members.

I'm going to also be having something on 4/19. Likely French White and with a $35 minimum.....

OK, Ragav can take 4/19 and I'll just go ahead and pick 5/31 for Pinots II.

This is a great idea! I just hosted my first event and I had a BLAST! Even though my condo is small and I live in the suburbs there were plenty of people who RSVPd. I encourage anyone to host - it would be great to have more frequent events. I will be out of town on April 4, otherwise I'd sign up to do another one right away!
