The New England Indonesian Festival

Indonesian food and cultural performances all day, and it's the first running of it, so it should be interesting. Even though there's not a lot of information right now, I'm stoked for it. "We are inviting you to experience Indonesian culinary, along with authentic traditional dances and performances."

There will be two groups, one meeting at 11:30 am (hosted by Robert) and another at 1:30 pm (hosted by Mariko).  The meeting spot for both groups will be in front of the Boston Central library facing Copley Square. From Copley sq T station, the Boston Public Library is only a 2 min walk. (Dartmouth and Boylston).

Thanks everyone who came. I talked with the organizers last night afterwards, and they know they need more food next year, haha.

Sorry was a half hour late by the time I found parking, missed the rest of the group. Next time, perhaps. The festival was indeed well organized and the dances were excellent. Thanks for organizing this!

The Indonesian festival was (relatively) well-organized despite its first time in Boston. Dance/Music performance was excellent - so many artists participated from DC/NY and from Indonesia/Japan with professional qualities. Upbeats. Glad to share the fun with some of you folks. Sorry we lost some people who went to find some food. Only 2 food vendors, which weren't enough to cater thousands of people. There were lengthy lines from the early morning. Thanks Robert for your initiatives to have this festival meetup.

I'm also a question mark for tomorrow. I've been fighting a stomach bug for the past couple of days. If I am feeling better I will be there.

    Hi folks,
I will be at the steps in front of the entrance of the Library with a meetup sign from 1:30 to 1:45 pm. Then walk to the Square for the festival (a 2 min. walk). We will walk around the vendors first and then enjoy the performance. It would be nice to stick together as a group but you are free to wander around by yourselves as well. It is not a big square so we may meetup with Robert's early group eventually. It will be a nice cool day. See you all there.

I love Indonesian food. Is there and Indonesian restaurant in Boston? Why not meet at a restaurant?

Robert, you're thinking of Penang, its so close to Indonesian, and my in-laws love it.

Does it matter which group you attend?

    September 4, 2013

    • Robert Van L.

My 11:30 group will be very large, because it's being combined with another meetup group. The 1:00 group will be smaller, because only members of this group will be going to it.

    Where will we meet up?

    August 30, 2013

    • Robert Van L.

I probably won't be able to pick out a location until 10 or 10:30 when I'm actually there. I'll post a comment in this event around then for the spot to meet at. I'll also likely send out an email with my phone number the day before if anyone needs to find the group.

      August 30, 2013

Or we will pick a location later when we got more info regarding this festival. We try our best to post the location beforehand. This is the first Indonesian festival in Boston so we still try to find more about this exciting event.
