September Travel Meetup

Come join us at White Horse Tavern for our monthly meetup. Get travel ideas from fellow travelers, and share your own travel stories!

Our concept is simple: meet other travelers or expats, talk about where you've been and where they've been, and get inspired for your next trip. Everyone with an open mind and sense of adventure is welcome, whether you're a travel novice or an experienced travel junkie.

This month we're back at the White Horse Tavern in Allston. This is a great space with lots of room to mingle. Parking can be a little tricky in Allston, but it's easily accessible by bus & T (green line).

Please note: Active solicitation of members at our meetups by commercial organizations is contrary to the spirit of the group. Please stay away if you are a travel company just looking to promote your business! Thank you :)

Thanks for coming out everyone! I learned about the ins and outs of working in S Korea, and how to find live music in any city around the world. Always a pleasure to chat with such interesting and well-traveled people! A special thank you goes out to all who came out despite feeling under the weather - hope you feel better soon.

This was my first meeting of this group and I am now a fan. So many interesting conversations! The bar situation was also just not a problem. There was plenty of space and it was easy to hear each others' fantastic tales of travel. I will definitely be back!

Can you ever have a bad time meeting world travelers? Good group. Thanks for the tips on Tokyo.

Beth, you're making a mistake. I LOVE this group. Levture? you can learn anything like that on line. We meet at a restaurant/bar because they have the space. It's not a drinking party. It's fascinating, dozens of people from around the world, and/or who have been around the world, talking together, being friendly and sharing ideas, information about traveling and life experiences. If you like to travel this is great. Plus there's no such thing as all who sign up to attend a meetup, showing up.

I am opting out because having to step into a bar with 62 people seems like I would prefer being in a lecture hall and in my own seat at a university of higher education.
I will check for the comments and discussion threads though.

Hi Beth: If it makes a difference, rarely does everyone who RSVPs show up. Suit yourself, though! It is definitely a relaxed bar atmosphere and not a lecture-type atmosphere.
