RE: [movies-351] Oscar Gets One Right

I have not seen A Separation, but plan to, and I have heard it was excellent.  I agree- Octavia Spencer was excellent.  I also thought Viola Davis should win. I think The Help was an excellent film.  I mean Meryl Streep is always great, but she has won and been nominated so many times already.  I did really like The Artist, and my inner francophile is happy that Jean Dujardin won.  Also, Christopher Plummer was excellent, and this was probably the last time he would get a change at this award.  Just my two cents.

A Separation won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
In a genre in which many worthy nominees didn't make it to the final cut, A Separation is a film that transcends the experience of film into a timeless exploration of history, relationship, family, morality - you name it.
Thanks to the organizers that hosted two viewings for this group.  If you haven't seen this film, make it the next movie you see.
And know that this group will be hosting another viewing when it comes back as Best of 2011.
